qualified PCU RN in Kansas City, Missouri, 64111! Pay Information
$2,189 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse
Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13
weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years
of relevant experience required License: Active nursing license
Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of recent specialty
experience required - Must have a full year of in-specialty
experience within the past 12 months - No gaps in employment
greater than 90 days in the past year Description: The position
requires a registered nurse with a specialty in a progressive care
unit. Nurse-patient ratios are typically 1:5. On rare occasions,
the ratio may flex to 1:6, and nurses will be expected to take
additional patients. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 8
shifts within a 6-week schedule period, which includes a
combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating to meet
facility needs will be required. Regular floating may occur between
departments and units. Essential skills required include: - Cardiac
monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation of
dysrhythmias - IV therapy and phlebotomy, including blood product
administration and central line care - Management of acute
conditions and protocols such as IV insulin protocols and infection
control - Familiarity with isolation precautions, wound care, and
managing various medical diagnoses Preferred skills include: -
Management of cardiac telemetry and understanding rapid response
teams - Feeding tube care and management - Handling patients with
renal failure, CVA, orthopedic trauma, and respiratory conditions
The position does not require on-call responsibilities. The
facility has a focus on education and has received recognition for
outstanding service quality. The nursing team is expected to stay
current with required certifications and comply with facility
protocols. References are required from direct supervisors or
charge nurses who have worked with the candidate in the past year.
Should a candidate's drug screen result in a diluted or positive
indication that cannot be cleared, the assignment will be canceled.
