Description Job Purpose: A Secondary Teacher at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in grades 7-12 within a faith-based Christian environment. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students in grades 7-12, ensuring alignment with the school's Christian values and academic standards. - Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. - Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and support to promote academic growth and development. - Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student learning and address any academic or behavioral concerns. - Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about the latest educational practices and trends. - Uphold and promote the mission and values of Summit Christian Academy in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues. Qualifications Required Education: - Bachelor's degree in Education or related field - Master's degree preferred Required Experience: - Experience teaching at a secondary school level, preferably within grades 7-12 - Previous experience working in a faith-based educational environment is highly desirable - Demonstrated ability to integrate Christian values into teaching and curriculum Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong understanding of educational best practices for secondary education - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff - Ability to create a positive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs - Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to secondary education - Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends and technologies - Capability to foster students' spiritual, academic, and personal growth in alignment with Christian principles
