Iola KS, manufacturing facility, you will be an Health, Safety,
Environmental Specialist. Responsible for organizing, implementing,
administering and monitoring Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)
programs within the scope of Company requirements and local, state,
and federal regulations. Identify HSE hazards and establish
controls to mitigate risks.Typically dayshift hours with
flexibility to cover off-shifts as needed.Will be on call
(rotation) as urgent needs arise. Key responsibilities (to name a
few): Maintain a variety of safety and environmental programs,
policies and procedures that will ensure facility is in compliance
with state and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA
standardsPerform, review, and revise HSE risk assessments including
job hazard analysesLead investigations on safety and environmental
incidents, including near misses and injuriesMaintain ISO 14001 and
OHSAS 18001 management systemsParticipate in and/or lead internal
audits and inspectionsSupport plant's management of environmental
and OSHA regulatory reporting and record-keeping requirements
--> Details:--> ABOUT YOU Bachelor's degree in Engineering,
Occupational Safety & Health, or Environmental Management
preferred3 - 6 years of HSE-specific experience required,
preferably in manufacturing industryRelevant certifications
preferred (First Aid, waste management, Associate Safety
Professional, internal audit training)Strong working knowledge of
safety codes, OSHA 1920, and other regulatory agencies;
environmental codes, EPA 40CFR, and other regulatory agenciesMust
have experience with permit administration, Behavior Based Safety,
HSE record-keeping and reporting, incident investigation (including
root cause analysis)
Excellent communication skills, verbal and writtenMust be able to
work over-time, extended hours, and/or weekends as needed
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without
