Qualifications Under the general direction of the Cardiology
Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes
individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of
nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department. Administers
medications, monitors patient vital signs/EKG, and performs
continuous patient assessment and documentation during patient’s
stay in the Cardiology Department. Collaborates with Anesthesia
team for care of patient undergoing anesthesia/sedation.
Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment as
needed. Competent in performing emergency cardiopulmonary
resuscitation. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and
inventory and operating EP/Cath Lab support equipment . Assesses
procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains
supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of
Cath/EP Lab are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during
procedures. Collects and assembles data for data base, outcome
analysis and performance improvement. Assists with and participates
in continuing education and cross training between Cath/EP Lab
areas. Staffs stay late and call requirements of department.
Supports CV Pre/Post staffing and procedures as needed.
Participates in shared staffing model with other HCA facilities
where licensing requirements met. This position provides care at
both Overland Park Regional and Menorah Medical Center campuses, as
determined by the Market Pool agreement and staffing assignments
are subject to change based on facility staffing needs determined
by Non-Invasive Market Manager and/or administration. SCHEDULE:
8-10/hr days, Monday - Friday; No weekends, holidays or call. What
qualifications you will need: Graduate of school of nursing
required. Current Kansas nursing license required. BLS required
upon hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Excellent
interpersonal and team skills required. Basic computer knowledge
preferred. Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology
related field preferred or acute care (ICU, ED). Previous
cardiovascular or electrophysiology laboratory experience
preferred. Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340 bed
facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are
Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II
Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center.
