Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Use of Rapid Response Teams - IV insulin protocols - Feeding tube care and management - Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management - Renal failure management - Blood Product Administration - Central line care/management - Peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Starting IVs - CVA management - Pre/Post neurosurgery care - Spinal cord injury management - Traumatic Brain injury management - Ortho trauma care - External CPAP/BIPAP management - Interpretation of ABGs - Oxygen administration via nasal cannula and face masks - Non-invasive airway management - Tracheostomy management - Isolation precautions - Wound care and management Description: Registered nurses in this specialty care for patients in a progressive care unit. The average daily census ranges from 24 to 30 patients. The unit has 30 rooms with a patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts. Staffing may require floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Weekend coverage requires a minimum of 8 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Holiday coverage is required if it falls on scheduled days. Candidates must have 2 years of recent specialty experience. They must have full-time experience within the past 12 months without a gap greater than 90 days. References from the past year are required, including one from a supervisor. Candidates must complete drug screening and lab requirements within a specified timeframe.
