Our mission in the ICU is to provide healing, comfort and support to our patients and their families in times of critical need. This support is provided through two specialized ICUs: our 43 bed Pediatric ICU (PICU) and 24 bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Our nursing staff can cross-train for both units. Our CICU sees approximately 1,000 admissions annually, with over 400 of those children receiving complex congenital heart surgery.Our nurses are innovators and leaders who are helping improve care and are changing how pediatric nursing is practiced here and around the world. Our commitment to education and training has led to Children’s Mercy having more advanced practice, specialty certified and BSN-prepared nurses than any other hospital in the region. Qualifications: - Associate's Degree ADN Required. Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training or - Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. The pay range for this job begins at $34.43/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
