Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kansas City, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,229 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Ability to float between departments as needed Weekend shifts required: 8 shifts in a 6-week schedule period Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a progressive care unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Previous experience in a teaching hospital setting is preferred. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required. Candidates must possess ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Experience in telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown is essential. Skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response are critical. The nurse will manage patients post-cardiac procedures and pre/post-surgery. Experience with IV insulin protocols and feeding tube care is preferred. The role includes responsibilities related to hemodialysis management and renal care. Competence in administering blood products and managing central lines is necessary. Proficiency in medication administration, including titration of cardiac drips, is required. Experience with various respiratory support devices, including CPAP and BIPAP, is important. Knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care practices is expected. The daily patient census is approximately 31. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialty teams for patient care. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality patient care. Candidates should have strong clinical skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
