  Successful manufacturer is adding business and investing in their facility! They are recruiting a Production Supervisor for their blending department to oversee the manufacturing and continuous improvement activities for a four shift 24/7 production area. The Production Supervisor will report to an Operations Manager and will have up to 25 direct reports. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the following duties:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to maximize safety, quality, delivery and cost initiatives
    
  • Printing batch sheets, following schedules and programming the batch system
    
  • Ensuring the accuracy of bulk batching and compounding recipes
    
  • Carrying and emptying 50 pound bags into the blending process as needed
    
  • Meeting daily, weekly and monthly production requirements, metrics and goals
    
  • Training, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
    
  • Identifying, initiating and maintaining process improvements, including efficiency improvements, scrap reductions and eliminating equipment downtime
    
  • Managing multiple project timelines simultaneously
    
  • Assisting with technical equipment issues as needed
    
  • Reviewing and scheduling and material changes in ERP system and making needed adjustments
    
  • Maintaining manpower goals by working with staffing services and human resources to attract and recruit talent
    
  • Working with planning and shipping; making adjustments when needed
    
  • Completing shift reports and communicating with incoming supervisors at shift change
    
  • Coordinating with the maintenance team PM schedules and troubleshooting downtime
    
  • Communicating with management on the status of projects and production
    
  • Other duties as directed by management
    
    
    This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 80% of their day. Candidates should have continuous improvement and scrap reduction skills, be energetic, have the ability to coach and mentor others, be able to take ownership of projects, have good work history and enjoy floor presence. Problem solving skills are required! Candidates need to be willing to be on call and take after hour calls as needed. Medical benefits are available day one of employment. A Bachelor's degree is required, a technical degree is preferred2. Depending on education, at least 1-5 years of RECENT manufacturing supervision experience3. Experience overseeing production in blending and/or compounding production environments 4. Experience overseeing at least 15-20 individuals
    5. Non-union supervision experience
    6. Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in assigned manufacturing areas (examples include scrap reductions, elimination of downtime, etc.)
    7.The ability to regularly lift and distribute 50 pound bags 8. Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:1. Lean or Six Sigma certifications2. Strong mechanical aptitude 3. Experience working in consumer products manufacturing
    4. ERP experience
    5. Process-oriented manufacturing
    6. Experience overseeing automated environments
