Job Description:

Innova Solutions is hiring a Sr. SQL DBA for a 100% onsite role in Overland Park, KS or Springfield, MO.

Duration: 6 months Contract-to-hire
Location: Overland Park, KS OR Springfield, MO

***100% ONSITE! Local Candidates ONLY! Possibly for hybrid after 6 months!

Strong SQL 2008 to latest version. MySQL experience is a plus.

1. SQL Server Expertise -

  • Database Installation & Configuration: In-depth knowledge of installing and configuring SQL Server instances and components. -
    • Database Design & Architecture: Strong understanding of database normalization, indexing, and schema design to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. -
      • SQL Server Versions: Experience with different SQL Server versions, from 2008 to the latest, and understanding version-specific features. -2. Performance Tuning & Optimization -
        • Query Optimization: Expertise in analyzing and optimizing slow-performing queries using techniques such as indexing, query rewriting, and execution plan analysis. -
          • Indexing: Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing indexes to improve query performance. -
            • SQL Server Profiler/Extended Events: Expertise in using SQL Server Profiler and Extended Events for performance analysis and troubleshooting. -
              • Resource Management: Knowledge of managing resources like CPU, memory, and disk usage to optimize overall performance. -3. Backup & Recovery -
                • Disaster Recovery: Experience designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery plans, including point-in-time recovery, log shipping, and Always On Availability Groups. -
                  • Backup Strategies: Strong understanding of full, differential, and transaction log backups to ensure data integrity and availability. -4. High Availability & Scalability -
                    • Always On Availability Groups: Knowledge in implementing and maintaining Always On Availability Groups, database mirroring, and log shipping for high availability. -
                      • Clustering: Familiarity with SQL Server failover clustering for ensuring high availability. -5. Security -
                        • User & Permission Management: Proficient in managing security policies, roles, permissions, and authentication (Windows Authentication, SQL Server Authentication, Active Directory integration). -
                          • Encryption: Knowledge of data encryption techniques, such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Always Encrypted, and column-level encryption. -
                            • Auditing & Compliance: Experience with SQL Server auditing to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal security policies. -
                              PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
                              Pay Range*: - -$60-65/hr -W2
                              *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
