CDD is a non-profit community-based organization that supports individuals with developmental disABILITIES in their own homes throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area. We have been doing this for over 50 YEARS with the goal of adding 50+ more in our sight!

Now that we've introduced ourselves, lets give you a rundown of what you'll be doing.



As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will:



  • Cultivate and grow CDD general volunteer group within each agency program.
  • Manage CDD volunteer be-friending program, to include working with EITAS to manage grant funding and collaboration with CDO to pursue continued grant funding.
  • Provide outreach to agencies, organizations, and corporations to recruit volunteers.
  • Provide retention efforts to maintain on-going volunteers within agency programs.
  • Create marketing, messaging, and training materials (written and verbal) for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention.
  • Develop social media posts highlighting the CDD volunteer program and be-friending program.
  • Create monthly newsletters to showcase the activities and accomplishments of individuals and the organization.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community volunteers, staff, and individuals.
  • Assist Recreation Coordinator with planning and execution of events that involve staff, individuals, and volunteers.
  • Assist Development Director with pre- and post-event activities including but not limited to entering auction items into database, entering guest and sale information into database, working at events, thank you letters, and clean-up.





    You would probably be great for this role if you have the following:


    --- High School diploma.

    --- Minimum one year's experience working with volunteers and/or volunteer programs.

    --- Bachelor's degree (Preferred but not required)

    --- Three years' experience working with volunteers and/or volunteer programs.(Preferred but not required)
