Job Description:

The Sr. Analyst is responsible for interacting regularly with Employee Benefit clients and team members for marketing needs, request for proposals (RFP), and package renewals. This associate plays an integral part in partnerships and negotiations and uses extensive analysis skills to accurately report and present to respected groups.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:


  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values

  • Interacts professionally and timely with clients via email, phone and in-person
  • Marketing/RFPs
  • Prepares RFP for all ASO and fully insured submissions to market with Account Executive direction
  • Collect, manages, and reviews proposals
  • Updates marketing results into spreadsheet ensuring accuracies to be used internally and in client presentation
  • Renewals
  • Requests renewals for all lines of coverage
  • Initiates review of all fully insured, ASO, stop loss, plans, cost, and contract terms based on criteria provided by Account Executive
  • Provides recommendations to Account Executive
  • Partnership & Negotiation
  • Negotiates with carriers based on the targeted goals from Account Executive
  • Maintains ongoing relationships with carrier and vendor partners
  • Underwriting & Analysis
  • Under guidance from Account Executive, provides analysis for benchmarking, contribution, disruption, network, stop loss deductible and GeoAccess analysis to include fully insured vs. self-funded analysis, and prepares such findings for Account Executive
  • Provides underwriting of all medical/Rx, dental, vision, life and disability plans and provides IBNR to client
  • Reporting
  • With minimal guidance, analyzes data for inconsistencies and trends
  • Provides a written and oral summary of findings to Account Executive
  • Builds and customizes reports to fit client needs
  • Presentation
  • Prepares client presentations and presents in front of client with provided direction from Account Executive
  • Training & Mentorship
  • Provides mentorship to analyst and performs technical review of work


    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:

    • 6-8 years of similar or related experience
    • Prefer college graduate, 4-year degree or equivalent experience
    • Proficient with MS Office Suites with expert required
    • Attains Life and Health license & maintains through continuing education requirements
    • Limited travel required (less than 25%)
    • Understands concepts of underwriting and actuarial computations
    • Analyzes and interprets data
    • Effectively manages multiple projects while meeting timelines
    • Ability to be firm and persuasive when needed, while maintaining good relationships
    • Handles confidential information with tact and discretion
